Newtown Mews is a four-bedroom town house spread over 3 floors, which includes a bathroom with separate toilet on the second floor and a shower room and toilet on the ground floor.
There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and 2 bedrooms on the 3rd floor, along with a staff office. Within the house there is communal lounge with seating, a TV and a dining room table and chairs.
The kitchen has 2 sink areas and other amenities provided, such as a microwave, fridge, freezer, hob and oven. The house has a communal laundry room which has both a washer and dryer. Whilst at the rear of the house there is garden area with a table and chairs for people to relax, and hopefully enjoy some sunny weather.
Newtown Mews is situated close to the metro station at Heaton Park with Heaton Park and shops close by and in walking distance, buses are also readily available throughout the day, for example in going to Bury or Manchester.
All hours of support are based around the individual’s needs in relation to learning disability and/or mental health problems. There is 1 member of staff on duty during the day and there is a sleep staff member during the night time.
Support consists of:
Promoting personal care and room maintenance
Support to shop and budget finances.
About our Support Workers
All staff are DBS checked and all new staff have a six-week comprehensive induction period.
All services users at Newtown are involved in their person centred support plans and promotion is around developing current and new skills to live as independently as possible.
There are 1-1 funded hours around individual’s needs. All staff are able to liaise with the local GP, Community nurses, and Social workers
