About the Home

Sherbourne House

off Warwick Road,

Prestwich,

Manchester

M25 3BN

Sherbourne House consists of four self-contained flats, with flats 1 and 2 being situated on the ground floor whilst flats 3 and 4 are on the first floor.

There is disabled access for both floors, the house is wheelchair friendly and Care- link is provided for those who need a little more support.

There is disabled parking to the front and at the rear of the house, where we have a garden and we grow our own fruit and vegetables, and of course where we can sit and enjoy the sunshine in the summer months and have lots of BBQ’S. We also have a basketball net and table tennis equipment.

Our Support

Sherbourne House is a purpose built supported living environment, where service users are supported to live as independently as possible. Our role as Support Workers is to provide support, advice and guidance to service users so that they can make informed choices around their everyday living.

Staff are present throughout the day and will provide additional 1-1 funded hours if needed.

All aspects of daily living are including in the person centred support, such as:

  • Personal care,

  • Social activities,

  • Managing a home on a budget.

  • Administering prescribed medication

Special nights

We hold “Come Dine with Me” nights, where services users from each flats make a different course each, and we host great parties when its somebody’s birthday.

About our Support Worker

There are two staff present every night and 5 staff present during the day. All staff have mandatory training around fire safety, and health and safety, moving and handling, administering prescribed medication, The Mental Capacity Act, and End of life Care to name a few.

This particular house also specialises in supporting adults with autism and complex needs, all staff have regular supervision/reflection and an opportunity to develop within the organisation.

There are currently 3 senior support workers at Sherbourne who oversee and supervise the staff on a day to day basis. All seniors and support workers are overseen by a named service manager and a registered manager.

All services users will have personal emergency evacuation plan (PEEP) in case of a fire and these are reviewed daily on handover between staff.

A complaints procedure is in place and a copy given to each service user and any family members involved in their care.

The aim of Sherbourne is to value, respect and promote independence of all services users who have made their home here.
